How to Use POM IT Splashtop Remote Access

  1. POM IT will send you a welcome email for the POM IT portal that you will use to access your computer. Setting up MFA (Multi Factor Authentication) is required. 
  2. Once your account is setup go to https://portal.pomit.com or https://pomit.shield.syncromsp.com/my_profile/user_login and login
  3. You will see the computer(s) that you have access to, click on the Computer icon
  4. You will get a pop up "Starting Remote Access Session" the first time you login. Choose "Windows Viewer" or "Mac Viewer" (this is asking what type of computer you are logging in FROM) 
  5. A Splashtop installer will download, run the installer (if logging in FROM a Mac you may be prompted to give additional permissions, please follow the prompts)
  6. You may get a warning that a pop-up was blocked from something like "st-rmm://com.splashtop.remote etc" please allow those pop-ups
  7. Now refresh the web page you are on and choose the computer icon like in step 2 above
  8. After a few seconds you will get a pop up, click "Open Splashtop for RMM" and it will open your remote session (this can take a few seconds).
  9. You can also choose "Always allow pomit.shield.syncromsp.com to open links of this type in the associated app" so that you wont get this pop anymore on this device
  10. You will now see your remote computer lock screen, enter your remote computer password

Some other settings in Splashtop Remote Access

  1. By default people in the office can see what you are doing on the screen that you are logged into. This can be useful if you are training someone etc. If you would like to turn this off so that people can't see your screen, once you are connected to your remote computer, check off "Blank Screen"
  2. If the computer you are remoting into has more than one screen you can press this to toggle between monitors.  You can also use keyboard shortcuts to toggle between monitors. Ctrl + Alt + # where "#" represents the number of the monitor you want to switch to or  Ctrl + Alt + Right Arrow to move to the next monitor and Ctrl + Alt + Left Arrow to go to the previous monitor.
  3. To use the ctl+alt+del function on the remote computer press this
  4. To make your remote session full screen click this
  5. To transfer files between your local computer and your computer click this and it will show you the files on your computer as well as we the remote computer and you can use arrows in between to do the transfer
